Montreat College is an independent, Christ-centered, liberal arts institution that educates students through intellectual inquiry, spiritual formation, and preparation for calling and career, all to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Below is a listing of positions currently available at Montreat College, along with descriptions. The School of Arts and Sciences is our traditional program on the main campus in Montreat, North Carolina. The School of Adult and Graduate Studies offers undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs in a classroom or online.

STAFF POSITIONS

IT Developer — Montreat, NC — The IT Developer is a full-time twelve-month position that works in conjunction with the Database Administrator to perform analysis, design, modification, development, integration, testing, and documentation of Montreat College’s software solutions including but not limited to: Salesforce, Jenzabar One, LMS systems and PowerFAIDS.

Admissions Counselor for Adult & Graduate Studies — Asheville, NC — The Admissions Counselor is responsible for creating a distinctively positive experience for prospective students such that appropriate students recognize and respond to the benefits of enrolling at Montreat College.

Director of Residence Life — Montreat, NC — The Director of Residence Life leads the residential student experience through provision of healthy, Christ-centered living environments that promote intentional community devoted to the holistic growth of each student. This role plays a critical part  in the supervision of the Residence Life team,  management of the multiple site locations and residential programs, and supporting the onboarding of new students.

Security Officer — Montreat, NC — This role will function to support the mission of the Campus Safety Department by performing routine security duties as well as serving the needs of the students in implementing and/or supporting the shuttle schedule between various campus residencies.

Alumni and Parent Relations Director — Montreat, NC — Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, this employee will develop a strategic and comprehensive alumni and parent relations program to include strengthening the Alumni Leadership Council, creating a Parent Advisory Council, and growing our network of engaged parents and alumni.

Faculty-Staff Director of the Montreat Team and Leadership Center (TLC) — Montreat, NC — Full-time staff-faculty position, with a 50% assignment as Director of the TLC and a 50% assignment (12 faculty credit hours) teaching in Outdoor Recreation Studies. The position reports to the Chair of Studies in Education and Outdoor Recreation, though all matters pertaining to faculty performance will be coordinated between the VPAA, the Director of the Faculty of Science and Human Services, the Chair, and appropriate faculty committees.

Content Marketing Specialist – Carolina Cyber Center — Remote or Montreat, NC — The Content Marketing Specialist will be required to research and define desired target audiences, manage the content creation and publishing process, and monitor prospective student, customer, and content metrics.

Full-time Administrative Assistant for AGS — Asheville, NC — The full-time Administrative Assistant for AGS provides administrative support for School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS) administrators and campuses.

Administrative Assistant to Vice President for Advancement — Montreat, NC — The administrative assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide organizational and administrative support to the Vice President for Advancement (VP) of Montreat College.

Head Coach – Clay Target Shooting — Montreat, NC — The Head Coach is responsible for the recruitment, retention and academic success of student athletes. The Head Coach is expected to affirm, model, and cultivate the Christ-centered mission of Montreat College and the Athletic Department. In addition to coaching, this position maintains control and oversight of budgets and scheduling of athletic contests. The Head Coach will be responsible to maintain compliance with all governing associations and Montreat College rules and regulations.

Staff Accountant — Montreat, NC — Staff Accountant is responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of college reports and statements.

Senior Counselor, AGS Student Financial Services — Asheville, NC — Manages the financial aid and student accounts process for new and continuing AGS undergraduate and graduate students. Reviews and responds in a timely manner to individual student requests and concerns regarding financial aid. Demonstrate superior customer service. Provides support to (AGS) Admissions staff and Associate Registrar/Director of Academic Advising and Academic Advisors and plays a key part in maintaining institutional data quality in the areas of financial aid and student accounts.

Records Specialist (Registrar’s Office) — Montreat, NC — Reporting to the College Registrar, the Records Specialist provides vital services to the College community as a professional member of the Office of the Registrar staff. The position cooperates with and supports the Registrar, Associate Registrar, Assistant Registrar, and Certification Specialist in fulfillment of the work of the office.

Bookstore and Document Center Manager — Montreat, NC — The Bookstore and Document Center Manager role is a key member of Montreat College’s finance and administration team, overseeing day-to-day management of the bookstore and document center operations.

Controller — Montreat, NC — The Controller role is a key member of Montreat College’s finance office, overseeing day-to-day management of the accounting operation and ensuring the general ledger is complete, accurate and timely.

Major Gift Officer — Montreat, NC — Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this employee will develop a strategic and comprehensive major gifts program by identifying, qualifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts necessary for all college funds.

Student Financial Services Counselor — Montreat, NC — The Student Financial Services Counselor will establish and maintain positive relationships with an assigned group of students so as to provide superior care and attention with regard to their financial aid package and student account.

Head Tennis Coach — Montreat, NC — The position of Head Tennis Coach is to oversee the successful operation of both the men’s and women’s tennis program, in areas such as but not limited to recruiting mission-fit and academically prepared student athletes, retention, spiritual leadership, scheduling practices, and community-engagement opportunities. The Head Tennis Coach will have a clear understanding of all Montreat College, NAIA, and AAC policies and procedures.

Head Men’s Basketball Coach — Montreat, NC — The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will oversee all aspects of a competitive men’s basketball program and is responsible for, but not limited to the integration of Christian faith, and the recruitment, retention and academic success of student athletes. In addition to coaching, this position requires control and oversight of budgets and scheduling of athletic practices and competitions. The Coach will be responsible to maintain compliance with all Montreat College, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.

Area Coordinator (RD) / Student Life Assistant — Montreat, NC — The dual role position of Area Coordinator functions as Residence Hall Director over multiple complexes and is a vital role in fulfilling Montreat College’s Christ-centered mission. In addition, part of this role will support other Student Life related needs (i.e. intramurals, international students, commuter students, first year students, student clubs and organizations, student life social media, data coordination, etc.). This role serves students in a co-curricular capacity within the residential environment through planned and unplanned educational opportunities, crisis response, management of the complex facility, supervision of the Resident Assistant staff, responding to Student Handbook violations, and other administrative needs. This role plays a critical part in relational retention efforts and supporting holistic student success. This is an 10-month live-in position.

FACULTY POSITIONS

Assistant Professor of Natural Science — Montreat, NC — Montreat College seeks a full-time faculty member to join a growing and dynamic team in the Department of Natural and Health Sciences. Montreat College’s enrollment has increased rapidly in recent years, and the college has identified the natural and health sciences as a pillar in the strategic plan for future growth of Montreat.

Cybersecurity Competition Coach – Part-time — Montreat, NC — The candidate will be responsible for coaching and recruiting for cybersecurity competition teams, such as the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC), National Cyber League (NCL), CyberForce, and local CTFs with College and High School Students.

Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Services — Montreat, NC — The School of Arts and Sciences at Montreat College seeks a full-time faculty member in the Psychology and Human Services Department.
