First-Year Students

First-year students should submit the following:

  • A free online application for admission: Students can now choose a test-optional application or a standard application.
  • All students must submit a high school transcript with course and GPA information to be considered for acceptance. Final official transcripts must be submitted before a student can enroll.
  • Students who choose the standard application must submit an SAT, ACT, or CLT test score report.
  • Transcripts and test scores can be emailed to or mailed to Montreat College Admissions, PO Box 1267, Montreat, NC 28757.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission requirements for test-optional applicants include a minimum 2.75 unweighted GPA.
  • Admission requirements for standard applicants include a minimum 2.75 unweighted GPA and one of the following minimum standardized test scores: 21 ACT, 1080 SAT, or 70 CLT. Montreat College will consider the highest submitted composite test score when making an admission decision. We do not super score.
  • Students whose applications do not meet these standards will be placed on a wait list and reviewed on a case-by-case basis for possible conditional acceptance. Conditionally-accepted students will be limited to 14 maximum semester credit hours during their first semester and are required to enroll concurrently in INDS 1102 “Foundations of Faith and Learning” and INDS 1103 “College Success Lab.”
