ALL FIRST YEAR RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS are required to follow these steps for fall check in. You are a first year student if you’re a residential or commuter student who is about to begin your first semester at Montreat College.
First Year Fall Athlete Check-in | Monday, August 14, 2023
- Who: Any FIRST YEAR FALL ATHLETE student.
- If the Fall 2023 semester will be your first semester at Montreat College and you are a fall athlete, you are expected to report to campus on August 14th.
- All students are required to attend Welcome Week
- Fines will be assessed for non-attendance or late arrival.
- Where: Anderson Auditorium//L. Nelson Bell Library
- All students must report to the Gaither Fellowship Hall for check in. Residential students will not be permitted to move into their residence hall until they check in at Gaither Fellowship Hall.
- Students who have not been cleared to check in will be directed to complete missing steps.
- When: Students must report to campus at the designated time listed below:
- Student Leaders – 9:00 a.m.
- Women’s Volleyball – 10:00 a.m.
- Men’s Soccer – 11:00 a.m.
- Women’s Soccer – 1:00 p.m.
- Men’s/Women’s Cross Country – 2:00 p.m.
- Please arrive on time. As a reminder, fines will be assessed for non-attendance or late arrival.

- I’m a commuter student-athlete, do I need to check in? Yes, check in is required for all students.
- Can I go to my residence hall before checking in? No, all students must report to the Anderson Auditorium parking lot for drive-through check in before moving into their residence hall. If cleared to move in, students will be given permission to report to their residence hall. If not cleared to move in, students will be directed to the Library. Fines will be assessed for those students who bypass this portion of the check in process.
- When do classes begin? The Fall 2023 semester officially begins on Tuesday, August 22nd. All First Year Students must check in during their designated time on Friday, August 18th.
- How do I know if I’m cleared to check in? Students need to make sure they’ve completed all steps listed on the New Student Orientation Task List.
First Year Check-in for students who are not athletes and have signed up for August 17th check-in | Thursday, August 17th | 1 to 5 p.m.
- Who: Any FIRST YEAR student.
- If the Fall 2023 semester will be your first semester at Montreat College, you are expected to report to campus on August 17th, no later than 5 p.m.
- All students are required to attend Welcome Week
- Fines will be assessed for non-attendance or late arrival.
- Where: Anderson Auditorium//L. Nelson Bell Library
- All students must report to the Anderson Auditorium parking lot upon arrival to campus. Residential students will not be permitted to move into their residence hall until they check in at Anderson Auditorium.
- Students who have not been cleared to check in will be directed to the Library to complete missing steps.

- A-G: 1-2:15 p.m.
- H-Q: 2:15-3:30 p.m.
- R-Z: 3:30-4:45 p.m.

- Can I go to my residence hall before checking in? No, all students must report to the Anderson Auditorium parking lot for drive-through check in before moving into their residence hall. If cleared to move in, students will be given permission to report to their residence hall. If not cleared to move in, students will be directed to the Library. Fines will be assessed for those students who bypass this portion of the check in process.
