Montreat College had a nursing program from 1954 to 1958. Montreat College, in conjunction with Memorial Mission Hospital of Asheville, NC offered a course leading to a Bachelor of Science degree granted by the College, and a diploma in Nursing, granted by the Hospital. These students began their three-years training in 1957 after having completed two to four years at Montreat College. The program was discontinued in 1959. This photograph shows student nurses and Mrs. Monroe in 1957. Pictured are: Betty Bradley, Beatrice Keys, Betty Weaver, and Demetria Chandarlis.
