Dr. Isabella Junqueira

Dr. M. Isabella Cavalcanti Junqueira joined the business department at Montreat College in August of 2020 as an assistant professor of business.

Before coming to Montreat College, Dr. Cavalcanti Junqueira served as the director for the globally recognized flagship master of science program in international business and strategy housed in the department of entrepreneurship and strategy at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). During the past five years at Lancaster University, a top 10 university in the United Kingdom, Dr. Cavalcanti Junqueira has taught undergraduate courses and four master’s programs, including the EMBA. She received her bachelor’s of science in clinical nutrition from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Aiming to become proficient in the international management and consultancy arena, she completed a master’s of science in international business development at a Grande École, namely the Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France. Lastly, she received her doctorate in management from Lancaster University.

Her research and publications focus on associations and processes that connect, adapt, and integrate networks, social and financial systems. Additionally, her research interests converge at the intersection of corporate and society’s interests arising from entrepreneurship and organizational fields, including the decision-making process, consumer behavior, strategic management, and innovation forces.

For over 15 years, her professional experiences ranged from project management and development consultancy for client-based specialized services. In this regard, she developed strategies to increase the digital presence and brand recognition for regional businesses as well as the financing of special projects for start-ups, SMEs, and hybrid organizations in the U.S., South America, and Europe. She is an active member of executive boards for organizations in the creative industries. Dr. Cavalcanti Junqueira often volunteers for fundraising endeavors that support Christian organizations focusing on international outreach in the area of entrepreneurship, innovation, and agricultural development.
