The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) officially reaffirmed Montreat College’s accreditation through 2031. SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the southern states.

“The reaffirmation of Montreat’s accreditation validates that we have the resources to provide exceptional higher education and that we are dedicated to making continuous improvements in every area of the college,” said President Maurer. “We remain focused as we continue to enhance our student experience through program development and ongoing updates and additions to our campus infrastructure.”

The college’s reaffirmation came after an in-depth review of its compliance with SACSCOC standards. All institutions that receive accreditation from SACSCOC must demonstrate compliance with 84 standards covering mission, educational programs, faculty, governing board, student achievement, academic services, administration, institutional planning, and financial resources.
