Tickets

Due to the number of graduates participating in the ceremony this year, we are only able to allocate 5 tickets per graduate this year. All graduate family members, underclassmen friends, and/or college staff members who plan to attend Commencement must have a ticket.

Exceptions:

  1. Children ages 3 and under (who can sit in a lap) do not require a ticket.
  2. Full-time faculty members do not require a ticket.

On Monday, April 7, you will receive 5 separate ticket emails to your Montreat College email account. These will come from Ticketbud Orders (orders@ticketbud.com). Each ticket has a unique QR code that will be scanned at the door and each ticket can only be used once. Please ensure that you provide your guests with the correct tickets, and if you’re giving an extra ticket to another graduate, please forward the email to the graduate’s Montreat College email address and copy communications@montreat.edu

Graduates who would like additional tickets are encouraged to speak with other graduates who may not be using all their allocated tickets. A Facebook group has also been created to allow graduates to post or request additional tickets. You can join the group here: www.facebook.com/groups/montreatcommencement2025.

Additional guests who are not able to sit in the auditorium are welcome to watch the livestream and celebrate with our graduates around campus before and after the ceremony.

We appreciate your understanding!

Attire

Business casual attire is appropriate under the gown. Flat soled shoes are recommended in the event the processional lines up outdoors on grass. Extended periods of standing should be expected so comfort is the order of the day.

Regalia (cap, gown, tassel) should be ordered from Herff Jones by Wednesday, March 26. It should be shipped to a personal address, either campus or home. Montreat College will not manage regalia and does not keep extra regalia in stock. Optionally, undergraduates (associate’s and bachelor candidates) may wear a matte black high school cap and gown.

Tip: The gown should be removed from its packaging and ironed or steamed to remove wrinkles. Professional dry cleaners can iron gowns for a fee.
