Prof. Greg Sayadian joined the Montreat College faculty in 2018. Prior to coming to Montreat, he had spent over 20 years working in cybersecurity. He worked for AOL and UUNET, and he has also worked in the government sector for the FAA.

Prof. Sayadian earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in Civil Engineering and master’s degree from George Washington University in Computer and Communications Security.

Prof. Sayadian’s areas of technical competency include security engineering and security operations for consumer facing services and infrastructure, global enterprise, employee and member data, and partner relations. His responsibilities have spanned network security, incident response, the security operations center (SOC), identity and access management, and DevOps. He has focused on advancing a holistic security posture employing industry maturity models, prioritizing efforts to adhere to government standards, utilizing agile processes and CI/CD.

In addition to technology, Prof. Sayadian has served as deacon, trustee, FCA board of directors member, volunteered with Convoy of Hope, and done missions outreach. He is married with two children and enjoys traveling, hiking, canoeing, and fly fishing.
