Course objectives:
- Explore the various topics within public administration.
- Examine the fundamental components of public administration and management.
- Demonstrate how public managers can strengthen the performance and legitimacy of their agencies.
- Explain the evolving roles of technology, big data and innovation in public administration, along with key differences between private and public management.
- Develop professional writing skills following APA guidelines.
Course code and title: MPAD 5404: Public Policy Analysis (3 credit hours)
Course descriptions: Students will learn methods and techniques of analyzing, developing and evaluating public policies and programs. Emphasis given to benefit-cost and cost-effectiveness analysis and concepts of economic efficiency, equity and distribution. Methods include problem solving and decision making.
Course objectives:
- Students will recognize and articulate the capacity and limitations of policy analysis.
- Students will assess the use of evidence and data in policy analysis practices.
