Montreat College Online through the School of Adult and Graduate Studies offers accelerated programs. Our students are challenged and rewarded both academically and spiritually. The faculty and staff of Montreat College are delighted and encouraged by your decision to further your education and we are dedicated to helping you achieve your educational goals.

Welcome to the Master of Arts in Clinical Health Counseling Program!

Congratulations on your acceptance into the CMHC program at Montreat College! You’re now part of a Christ-centered academic community dedicated to preparing you for impactful, compassionate work in the field of professional counseling.

Our online program equips you for your residencies through self-paced modules, assignments, and assessments, You will also apply your clinical knowledge during two, 5-day long required residencies.

The full program includes 60 credit hours and can be completed in eight semesters (approximately 2.66 years) with a full-time course load.

As a new student with Montreat College Online, you’re about to begin an exciting journey, and we’re here to make sure you’re ready to start strong. Take a few minutes to review each section, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help.

We’re excited to support you every step of the way!

Log in to the financial aid portal using your student ID (without the zeros), set up your account, and then review, accept or decline any awards and sign any required documents. For help, contact Financial Services, call 800.545.4656, or schedule an appointment.

To receive financial aid for Montreat College Online, students must complete all required forms, including the FAFSA, Master Promissory Note, and Entrance Counseling, before their first course begins. Aid eligibility depends on enrollment status, satisfactory academic progress, and annual reapplication. Financial assistance options include federal and state aid, VA benefits, and employer reimbursement. Tuition is due at least two weeks before each course with late fees applied as needed. Refunds and withdrawals follow specific timelines, and receipts or credit balance disbursements can be requested through Student Financial Services.

Review Your Financial Aid

Registration is held for each term (fall, spring, and summer: all 3 sessions). Students may take up to 2 courses per session.  Full registration for your first term will be done during the registration meeting with your Academic Advisor.

From textbooks to email, our New Student Account Resources guide contains tons of helpful information to get you ready for day one. Watch for your login info from IT, and start checking your student email daily.

Slingshot will begin shipping textbooks one to two weeks before classes begin. If you have moved and need to update your address, please visit your MAP account to update all the information.

  5. MAP Account – To view transcripts, class schedules, billing and to update your mailing address please visit the Montreat Access Portal (MAP). To access the MAP student account, please complete the following steps:

    • Select MAP (Montreat Access Portal) from the list of “Resources”
    • Once logged in: you can view your balance, make a payment, or set up a payment plan.

My name is Brandi Hebert (pronounced A-Bear), and I am in the Enrollment and Advising Department for Montreat College Online. I am so excited to help you with your educational journey. I am a North Carolina native, and although I have traveled around nearly 50 states, I still consider our Blue Ridge Mountains to be the most beautiful area I’ve seen, with Montreat nestled right in the middle.
