Chapel and student worship
Most Montreat students attend weekly chapel even though it’s not required. Our chapel services and our student-led worship nights are thoughtfully designed to be meaningful, relevant, and deeply personal. These gatherings are spaces where students worship freely, hear biblical teaching, and build community rooted in Christ.
“Being able to talk about my faith with other people really changed me. My relationship with God reached a whole new level at Montreat.”
— Nia Perryman (’24), Psychology
Spiritual Growth Opportunities
We offer a variety of ways for students to grow in their faith, connect with others, and live out the Gospel.
Alpha
Explore life’s biggest questions in a welcoming, no-pressure environment. Alpha starts with a shared meal, then a short video and honest discussion about faith. It’s a safe place for all beliefs and backgrounds.
Peer Discipleship Groups
Join small student-led groups that meet weekly in local homes to study Scripture, pray, and encourage one another.
Convocation Series
Experience monthly campus-wide gatherings featuring Christian speakers and thought leaders who challenge and inspire. All full-time undergrads attend at least five each semester.
Thielman Lecture Series
Dive deep into theology and culture with leading Christian thinkers during this annual spring series honoring Rev. Calvin Thielman, a longtime Montreat chaplain and close friend of Rev. Billy Graham.
Service & Mission
Live out your faith through action. From Cavalier Care Day to domestic mission trips, students serve local communities and learn from ministries across the country.
“Getting the opportunity to learn about God and His creation from the guidance of wonderful professors alongside wonderful friends is something I will always be grateful for.”
— Abby Buckner (’26), English Literature & Psychology
