Why Art?
Our art minor provides a solid grounding in the classical method. Each studio course explores the elements and principles of visual art through observation, interpretation, and response. While formalism is taught and encouraged, it is integrated into the resulting artwork rather than existing as a standalone abstract method.
Faculty members assist students in developing a framework for perception that guides decision-making and problem-solving processes, skills that are effective not only in creating works of art but also in other areas of life.
