Position: Assistant/Associate Professor in Healthcare Management and Leadership

Location: Montreat, North Carolina (residential undergraduate)

Start Date: August 2026 preferred

Summary: The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Montreat College seeks a full-time faculty member in Healthcare Management and Leadership to serve in our Christ-centered traditional residential undergraduate liberal arts setting, with plans for future graduate studies in the program. The successful candidate will be an outstanding, creative, entrepreneurial teacher and scholar with a heart for student success. The College desires an individual who can help further shape and collaboratively lead a developing program that integrates business acumen, health policies and practices broadly understood, and basic biology/medical science, with a variety of professional applications. Interdisciplinary ability to operate cooperatively in the context of the College’s strengths and forward momentum around data and information security in the healthcare industry is also expected. This appointment is in the Faculty of Technology and Human Industry, Studies in Business, with teaching and service in Business/Technology and Natural Science (Biology), plus administrative load (details under “Duties” below).

Teaching excellence and a willingness to serve the broader college community through service and committee work are also expected.

Additional specific qualifications and expectations include:

· Earned terminal degree, preferably in either business or a health-related natural science field; at least one graduate degree in business or equivalent, and one or more degrees or professional experience in the healthcare industry, with professional credentials and ability to teach basic undergraduate biology. The College’s local network includes a number of experienced healthcare professionals and leaders that can contribute to delivery of the program.

· Strong Christian faith with a deep commitment to its expression in personal and professional life.

· Commitment to the Christian Liberal Arts (both arts and sciences) and its vocational relevance to our students’ lives.

· Experience teaching in Christian higher education preferred.

· Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff within and across departments and disciplines.

· Commitment to professional development.

Duties:

· Ten-month annual contract. Depending on the candidate selected, the anticipated load is expected to be approximately 35-40% teaching business, leadership, and/or technology for healthcare; 35-40% teaching basic biology/medical-science-related subjects; and 10-25% program development, administration, and recruiting. Creative collaboration around data and security in the healthcare industry understood broadly will be expected in this distinctive role.

· Institutional service as detailed in the Faculty Handbook, including committee work and student academic and professional advising and mentoring.

· Other duties as assigned by the Provost within the scope of the Faculty Handbook.
