Position: Assistant/Associate Professor in Business and Leadership

Summary: The Montreat College Online School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS) seeks a full-time faculty member in Business and Leadership to serve in our Christ-centered traditional online programs. The successful candidate will be an outstanding, creative, entrepreneurial teacher and scholar with practical business experience and a heart for online student success. The College desires an individual who can help further shape and collaboratively lead established programs in Business with strong connections to security and technology aspects, as well as newly developing programs. Individuals with ability and experience to step into Business academic program and curricular leadership will be preferred.

The candidate will also demonstrate support for Christian liberal arts education across the arts and sciences and the specific ability to integrate faith with the disciplines in a compelling, thoughtful manner. Teaching excellence and a willingness to serve the College and the School through service and committee work are also expected.
Additional specific qualifications and expectations include:
· Earned doctorate in Business, or MBA (terminal degree or equivalent required to teach graduate courses).
· Strong Christian faith with a deep commitment to its expression in personal and professional life.
· Experience teaching in online higher education, with ability and experience in Business academic program and curricular leadership preferred.
· Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff within and across departments and disciplines.
· Commitment to professional development.
Duties:
· Ten-month annual contract, with some combination of teaching and administrative work equivalent to 24 academic hours (eight three-credit courses); specific load is worked out from term to term based on program needs; curriculum consists of typical foundational online undergraduate and graduate courses in Business and/or Business-related IT. Summer term teaching within load or as overload is normally available.
· Institutional service as detailed in the Faculty Handbook, including committee work and student academic and professional advising and mentoring.
· Other duties as assigned by the Provost within the scope of the Faculty Handbook.
Supervision:
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; works closely with the Associate Dean for Adult and Graduate Studies, AGS Chair of Business and Technology, and various AGS academic and enrollment/advising staff.
