COMPASS Exercise Science Program
Summer Immersion Program
Do you have a passion for sports and fitness, enjoy being active and want a fast-paced career? Are you curious about how the body works? Exercise Science prepares students for careers in fitness and health promotion, strength and conditioning, and wellness programs. Explore the world of exercise science through the hands-on COMPASS program. Students will learn from Montreat College faculty and industry experts about our bodies’ functionality, fitness assessments, and careers in the field.
COMPASS 2026 will be held June 21-25, 2026.

- 7:30-8:30 a.m.: Breakfast
- 8:45-10 a.m.: Session 1 – Data Collection & Screening
- 10-10:15 a.m.: Break
- 10:15 a.m.-12 p.m.: Session 2 – Pre-Exercise Health Screening
- 12-1 p.m.: Lunch
- 1:15-2:45 p.m.: Session 3 – Aerobic Fitness at Black Mountain Campus
- 2:45-3 p.m.: Break
- 3-4:30 p.m.: Session 4 – 1 Mile Run Test
- 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Free Time
- 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Dinner
- 10 p.m.: Lights Out
