Dr. Todd von Helms came to Montreat in 2023 to serve as the college’s first Senior Fellow. He has degrees from and affiliations with Duke University, Southwestern Seminary, Southern Seminary, Southern Methodist University, Dallas Baptist University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to his current role at Montreat College, he also serves as a Senior Fellow at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, a Presidential Scholar at Dallas Baptist University, and a Senior Fellow at the King’s College in New York City. Von Helms also frequently speaks on college campuses and at churches across the country to promote civil discourse, critical thinking, and a deeper faith in God.
He is the author of the book Before You Leave: For College, Career, and Eternity, which was published in 2020. Drawing on scripture, trusted theologians, historical references, and cutting-edge conversations, his book helps readers understand and discuss challenging and essential questions of faith.
