Andrew Southerland

Dr. Southerland brings nine years of higher education teaching experience from Stephen F. Austin State University, Evangel University, and the University of Wyoming. His areas of expertise include counselor identity development, sports counseling, and rural mental health, with a special interest in faith integration in professional practice.

What is your favorite thing about working at Montreat?
My favorite things about working at Montreat are the people, our beautiful campus, and our Christ-centered focus.

What are your hobbies or interests?
I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.

Do you have a favorite restaurant in the area?
I always enjoy going to Trailhead when I’m in town.

What is your favorite thing to do or see in the area?
I always look forward to walking through campus and hiking some of the mountain trails.
