Dr. Jarrett Walbolt joined the Montreat College faculty in 2021. He earned his B.A. from Bethel University in Mishawaka, Indiana, and completed his Ph.D. in exercise and nutrition sciences at Baylor University. While at Baylor, Jarrett taught lab and lecture courses in anatomy and exercise physiology. He also gained practical experience by helping coach Baylor’s track and cross-country teams.
Jarrett’s current research project focuses on treatments to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease in individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder. He has also helped mentor undergraduate students in multiple research projects within the fields of exercise and nutritional sciences.
Jarrett enjoys spending time with his wife Lexi and distance running with his dog, Clyde.

Collaborating with students to develop truly unique and personalized experiential learning
What are your hobbies or interests?
Distance running with my dog, home renovation and design, and anything food-related
Do you have a favorite restaurant in the area?
My wife and I are both great cooks, but when we aren’t cooking for ourselves, we like going to small, local places such as Tortilleria Molina.
