MONTREAT, N.C. — Montreat College announced today that tuition rates for Montreat College Online will remain unchanged for the 2026–2027 academic year, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to affordability and access for adult and online learners.
The tuition freeze applies to all Montreat College Online undergraduate and graduate programs. College leaders said the decision reflects the institution’s recognition that online learners often balance higher education alongside work, family, and other financial responsibilities.
“While higher education institutions everywhere continue to face rising operational costs, we know affordability remains one of the most important factors for adult learners considering returning to school,” said Vice President for Adult and Graduate Studies Andy Keith. “Holding tuition steady for our online students is a strategic decision that supports access, flexibility, and long-term student success.”
Keith noted that the tuition freeze for online programs reflects the unique mission and student demographics of Montreat College Online and differs from the college’s traditional residential undergraduate model, where increases in tuition, room, and board help support the on-campus student experience, campus operations, and residential programming.
“Our traditional undergraduate students benefit from a distinctly residential, community-centered college experience that includes housing, dining, student life, athletics, and extensive campus resources,” Keith said. “Montreat College Online serves a different population with different needs, and we are committed to structuring those programs in ways that remain both faith based and high quality as well as financially. accessible.”
Montreat College Online serves working adults, transfer students, and graduate learners through flexible online degree programs designed to fit the schedules of busy professionals and families. Programs are offered in fully online formats across disciplines, including business, cybersecurity, counseling, criminal justice, data analytics, and human services.
“Our goal is to remove barriers that prevent students from pursuing the next step in their education or career,” Keith said. “Keeping tuition flat allows our online students to plan confidently and continue progressing toward their degrees with greater financial stability.”
