Montreat College announced today that Fall 2025 enrollment has set four major institutional records, highlighted by the highest full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment in the college’s 110-year history. This fall, Montreat College reached a record 929 FTE students, eclipsing the previous benchmark set in 2022.
FTE is a calculation that translates student credit hours into an equivalent number of full-time, full-year students. This measure provides a more accurate picture of enrollment impact than headcount alone and is a vital tool for projecting revenue and planning for organizational needs.
“Montreat College is blessed to see continued growth across both our residential and online programs,” said President Paul J. Maurer. “These numbers reflect the strength of our Christ-centered mission, the commitment of our faculty and staff, and the confidence families and students place in Montreat to provide a Christian education that develops both mind and spirit.”
This fall, the School of Arts and Sciences welcomed 653 degree-seeking students. Alongside a historic FTE achievement, Montreat College welcomed the largest incoming class for the second consecutive year with 292 new full-time students, including a record 230 full-time freshmen.
Montreat College Online, within the School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS), also celebrated historic gains, continuing to expand its reach among online learners. Graduate FTE climbed to a record 189, with total Montreat College Online enrollment reaching 201 students.
In total, Montreat College now serves 985 undergraduate and graduate students.
