Summary
This role would provide critical support in managing logistics, streamlining operations, and enhancing the participant experience during the busy summer season.
Guidelines & Expectations
The Assistant Coordinator is expected to maintain a positive and professional attitude in all aspects of the role while demonstrating respect for the Conference Services Coordinator, supervisors, and team members.
The Assistant Coordinator is also expected to provide exceptional customer service in all interactions, whether with students, parents, conference attendees, or fellow team members. Professionalism, approachability, punctuality, and flexibility are essential with special emphasis in coordinating arrivals and departures for summer conferences. Staff should avoid making guarantees to customers, as the Coordinator and Student Life full-time team retain the right to adjust services and make decisions on a case-by-case basis.
Responsibilities
- Attend all check-in and check-out shifts, with arrival and departure times varying by conference
- Respond to various emergency situations, acting as a liaison and point of contact on behalf of the college with conference guests
- Prepare and maintain living spaces for conference attendees, ensuring facilities are move-in ready for students at the end of the summer
- Assist with room key and meal card distribution and turnover
- Support office staff and other college team members throughout the summer
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Conference Services Coordinator
General Requirements
- Bachelor degree required, Grad Student or higher preferred
- Affirm and support the vision, mission, statement of faith, and community life covenant of Montreat College
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Desire to create and maintain a culture of servant leadership and excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Organizational and managerial skills
- Commitment to demonstrating an active Christian faith through personal example and interaction
- Flexible; innovative, creative, and energetic; detail-oriented
Hours required
25 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks during the summer.
The Coordinator of Conference Services reserves the right to modify or expand responsibilities as needed.
