Dwight Shook

Dwight Shook holds an AASc in Business Administration from Catawba Valley Community College, BS in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University, MBA in International Business, Masters Certificate in Finance from Gardner-Webb University, and doctoral studies at Northcentral University and Liberty University. Mr. Shook has also studied business valuation through the International Business Appraisers Association and is a licensed NC real estate broker as well as a notary public.

Mr. Shook has taught at the collegiate level at both two-year and four-year institutions for over seventeen years. Shook has owned and co-owned multiple businesses over the years. Additionally, he has counseled multiple entrepreneurs through their business startup process including helping to write two monetary award-winning business plans. Furthermore, he has written and presented multiple seminars and webinars for the NC Small Business Center. He was appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to the NC Agricultural Finance Authority.

Mr. Shook has also served as Vice-Chair of the Alexander County Board of Health and served on the Alexander County Animal Advisory Board and Chaired the Western Piedmont Council of Governments Sister Cities Association. Shook is married with two adult children. He enjoys playing and writing music and plays bass for his church choir where he serves as Sunday School superintendent. He also enjoys swimming, basketball, and reading.
