Montreat College’s School of Adult and Graduate Studies is excited to announce the opening of a new classroom space in Charlotte for its Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program.

Located in the Quail Hollow neighborhood of south Charlotte, the new classroom space is part of the South Park campus of Forest Hill Church at 7224 Park Road.

“We are thrilled to offer a new location for our Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in Charlotte,” said Dr. Paul Gratton, Interim Vice President for the School of Adult and Graduate Studies. “This learning environment reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and convenient access for students pursuing a career in mental health counseling. The mission of this program is to empower individuals to make a meaningful impact by being active global citizens and advocates for social justice, and this new space will facilitate that goal.”

Montreat’s CMHC program is fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and uses a hybrid model with in-person and online classes. Courses train students in the fundamentals of human development, human behavior, and counseling in preparation for professional practice in a variety of settings, including private practice, community, government agencies, and other mental health settings.

In addition to the new classroom space, CMHC students have access to a student lounge to enhance their educational experience. Montreat students may enter the facility using the ramp on the back side of the building.

Classes for the School of Adult and Graduate Studies begin August 28, 2023. For more information, please visit our CMHC program web page.
