Dr. Jackie Perry

Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Jackie Perry

Dr. Jackie Perry joined the Montreat College faculty in 2022 as an assistant professor of clinical mental health counseling. She is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

In addition to teaching at Montreat, she remains in clinical practice part-time with Cornerstone Counseling Center, where she provides consultations for parents and therapeutic services for adolescents, emergent adults, and families. She also supervises counselors for licensure in North Carolina and conducts seminars and continuing education workshops for churches, schools, and community organizations.

In 2019, she released her first book, The Heart Cry of Every Teen. This book was written to equip parents and caring adults to understand and address the eight heart-core desires that drive and direct much of the best and worst behaviors that unfold during the adolescent years of development.

She is married to her college sweetheart John, and they have three adult children. They love the outdoors and consider kayaking or hiking with a view of the North Carolina Mountains a perfect day.
