About The Inklings Fellowship
The Inklings Fellowship takes its inspiration from an informal group of Christians in Oxford who met together from the early 1930s until the early 1960s. Members of the group included C. S. Lewis, Warren H. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Lord David Cecil, and Charles Williams who all became internationally known for their popular writings. While the Inklings met weekly to read aloud from their current writing projects, they met primarily as friends to enjoy and encourage one another during a dark time in our world.
According to the Inklings Fellowship Society, “The Inklings Fellowship began informally as a group of friends with a common interest in C. S. Lewis and a common concern for the loss of positive Christian vitality in the mainstream of American higher education. Beginning with the first Inklings Weekend in 2001, the Inklings Fellowship has grown to include resources and programs designed to offer encouragement and stimulation for Christians called to education.”
