Montreat College is pleased to announce its new COMPASS Summer Experience program. COMPASS is a week-long summer immersion program for high school students who are looking to explore an academic field of interest with college-level instructors and get a taste of the college experience. Montreat College is offering six immersion options the week of June 16-21, 2019. Options include programs in cybersecurity (both standard and advanced), exercise science, herpetology, audio production, and business innovation.

“COMPASS is an excellent way for high school students to get a feel for college life,” says COMPASS Program Director Laura Buckwalter. “In addition to exploring a field of study, they get to stay in a college residence hall and eat in the dining hall—it’s a great college preview.”

COMPASS programs combine classroom learning with hands-on activities, and the programs are taught by experts in their field, including four Montreat College professors.

“COMPASS is also a good way for students to do a deep dive into a subject and see if it might be something they want to major in,” says Buckwalter. “It’s a great opportunity.”

Students who attend COMPASS will receive a $2,500 Montreat College scholarship.

Montreat College’s 2019 COMPASS Summer Experience program will take place June 16-21 on the Montreat College campus. Early bird pricing is available through April 15. Learn more and register here
