Montreat College will celebrate Spring Commencement exercises at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, in Montreat’s Anderson Auditorium. The college welcomes Rev. Dr. Mike Moses, lead pastor of Charlotte’s Lake Forest Church and former Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) moderator, as the keynote speaker for Commencement.

Dr. Moses is the founding and lead pastor of Lake Forest Church (LFC), an evangelical Presbyterian church north of Charlotte, N.C., where he has served for the past 19 years. He began his journey working as a youth minister for Young Life and as pastor of spiritual growth for a church plant, Hope Church, in Memphis, Tenn. In 1998, Dr. Moses helped kick-start LFC with an original group of 42 at a skating rink where he preached under a disco ball. Since that day, he has helped LFC grow to a church of over 2,000 people known for their mission activity in the community and around the world, while maintaining their singular focus on following Jesus. Dr. Moses was moderator for LFC’s denomination, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, in 2015. He earned his D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, his M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in history from the College of William & Mary.

Montreat College will award diplomas to 105 students who have completed undergraduate, graduate, and associate degrees. Dana Hicks, School of Adult and Graduate Studies graduate, and Emily Adair, School of Arts and Sciences graduate, will give addresses to their class. The college will also honor Jennifer Guthrie ’85 and Javier Garcia ’13 with the Distinguished Alumni Service Award.

Spring Commencement photographs will be available for purchase from Hannah Belle Photography. Photos will be available for viewing and purchase at on May 15.
