Montreat College announced its Alumni Association Leadership Council representatives today. Montreat alumnus Chuck Hood ’75 will serve as Council president. Jay Guffey ’86 will serve as vice-president. And Pam (Eastridge) Cobaugh ’74 will serve as secretary.
“Montreat College’s relationship with its alumni is essential to the continued growth of the college,” said Montreat President Paul J. Maurer. “And we are thrilled that such an impressive team of alumni leaders would volunteer to serve the college.”
The full list of Leadership Council representatives also includes: Jazz Cathcart ’07, Caroline Clark ’13, Garlene Johnson ’56, Eddie Karriker ’00, Rob Lewis ’95, Harrison Northey ’15, Brenda Owens ’13, Pam Pauly ’69, Tony Robinson ’06, Anthony Rodriguez ’06, Nat Schermerhorn ’74, Joshua Kilgo ’16, and Dave Walters ’69.
The stated expectations of the Leadership Council are to: inform the Alumni Association’s membership of achievements of college alumni, students, faculty, and staff; champion and support the college’s priorities, plans, and initiatives to their spheres of influence; lead and serve as volunteers for college activities and events; be a donor of record on an annual basis; be active in fundraising efforts for the college; if applicable, be a source for internships and job opportunities; help recommend and recruit students, donors, and college employees; recommend and lead in ways to support the college.
The Alumni Association Leadership Council will be formally introduced during Homecoming Weekend, on Oct. 3, 2015, both at the annual Alumni Association meeting at 9:30 a.m. and in between the men’s and women’s soccer games later that afternoon.
