The Rev. Dr. Jerry Lewis, lead pastor at Grace Community Church in Old Fort, North Carolina, will be the featured speaker at Montreat College’s Baccalaureate Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8 in Montreat College’s Gaither Chapel.

Lewis has served as lead pastor of Grace Community Church in Old Fort for the past 15 years. He is also an adjunct professor in the Bible department at Montreat College. He graduated from Wofford College in 1990 and received an M.A. in student counseling and personnel services from the University of South Carolina in 1993. He earned his Master’s of Divinity in 1999 and his Doctor of Ministry in expository preaching in 2010, both from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His wife, Wendy, is well known by Montreat students for her dedication in food services at the college, and together they have two children, Hannah and Trent. Lewis is a passionate fan of Duke Blue Devils basketball and plays the piano by ear.
