Montreat College English professor Don King has just published his sixth book, “The Letters of Ruth Pitter: Silent Music.” As suggested by the title, the book features a generous selection of letters sent by and to Pitter, a distinguished 20th Century British poet whose correspondents included many British literary luminaries. Conspicuous among these was C.S. Lewis, whose work was profoundly influenced by Pitter, and whose letters are featured prominently in the book. “The Letters of Ruth Pitter” is a companion to Dr. King’s 2008 book, “Hunting the Unicorn: A Critical Biography of Ruth Pitter.”

“The Letters of Ruth Pitter: Silent Music” is available at Amazon or through The University of Delaware Press. Dr. King has also given a copy to Montreat College’s Bell Library.
