A team from Montreat College recently competed in the third annual “Ethics Bowl” for North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU). The NCICU Ethics Bowl was founded in 2012 to provide an academic experience which would help students learn to apply ethics in leadership, decision-making, interpersonal relationships, and other situations they will face in their professional careers. The 2014 Ethics Bowl took place over February 7-8 and focused on the topic “Ethics in Health Care.” The event was presented by leading sponsors Duke Energy and Wells Fargo and featured teams from 18 colleges and universities from throughout North Carolina. In spite of a difficult schedule, the Montreat College team performed admirably, losing to eventual champion Wake Forest by just five points.
