Marine scientist Dr. Jesse McNinch will be speaking at Montreat College on April 7, 2014. Dr. McNinch is currently part of the Army Corps of Engineers Duck Research Pier and a former professor at the College of William & Mary. His previous work focused on storm erosion and the movement of inlets, but his current work is on hurricane predictors and climate change, which will be the topics for his upcoming lecture titled “Changing Storm Activity in the North Atlantic: Clues from the Outer Banks and the Caribbean.”

Dr. McNinch will speak at Montreat’s Chapel of the Prodigal at 7 p.m. on April 7, 2014. The lecture is open to the public and free of charge. The Chapel of the Prodigal is located at 358 Texas Rd., Montreat, NC 28757
