Montreat College was selected as a 2012-2013 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Champions of Character Five-Star Institution. The Cavaliers athletic program received this recognition based on the College’s commitment to the five star values of the NAIA, which are integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

Member institutions of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics “are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earned points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion.”

Craig Jackson, Cavaliers athletic director, shared, “We are very excited to receive the Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award again this year. Each team works very hard throughout the year to demonstrate great character during competition as well as outside of competition. Our teams have continuously worked to serve their community and volunteer their time as student-athletes. Our coaches make sure that we are not only focused on winning, but that we are also focused on helping the community and building character as individuals within the athletic department.”
