Dr. Don King, Montreat College English professor and C.S. Lewis scholar, will be releasing his most recent book Plain to the Inward Eye: Selected Essays on C.S. Lewis on Friday, January 25 from noon until 1 p.m. at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts on 225 W. State Street in downtown Black Mountain. Books will be available for purchase from Black Mountain Books. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch to the event.

Dr. King has been a professor at Montreat College since 1974; he is a renowned scholar on C.S. Lewis. This book, published on the 50th anniversary of Lewis’s death, is a collection of essays about Lewis in four areas: the legacy of The Chronicles of Narnia, his poetry, his relationships with Ruth Pitter and Joy Davidman, and an analytical outlook on the critical interest in Lewis’s work that has developed since the 1980s.
