Montreat College recently opened a new location for its School of Adult and Graduate Studies in Uptown Charlotte on the 11th floor of the Johnston Building on 212 S. Tryon Street, right in the heart of the bustling uptown.

The Grand Opening on October 23 brought together students, alumni, community members, and Montreat staff and faculty to celebrate the new location through a ribbon cutting ceremony. Among the speakers were Montreat College President, Dr. Dan Struble, Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment, Mr. Jonathan Shores, and a special guest from the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

Before the Uptown location, Montreat College’s Charlotte location was outside of the city’s center. Dr. Ed Smith, director of extended education and outreach, believes that “The new campus is more convenient for our students who work in the uptown area… [and] will allow us to team up with more companies and organizations that are located in the uptown area.” His hope is for the new location to cater to the needs of students as well as provide the school with more corporate partnership opportunities.
