Wilson Scholar Profiles

Our Wilson Scholars carry on Miss Wilson’s legacy of love, care, and service to Montreat College and their fellow students.

Continuing a Legacy of Service

“I cannot say how thankful I am for the opportunity to serve as a Wilson Scholar. This opportunity has allowed me to take my creativity and apply it professionally in my work in the office, and to do so with the support of the professionals that I work with in the office. Beyond that, I am elated to be a part of a mentor relationship where I am able to take the time to learn from an older, more experienced man and explore some of life’s deeper questions and to consider where I invest my time, why I do so, and how the way I spend my time can ultimately propel me towards what God has for me.”

“Christ can be pursued in, and is revealed through, the work of every person. The good works accomplished in service of His body are fulfilled by those in Montreat’s offices every day. As a Wilson Scholar working in Advancement, I wish to thank those who serve me as a student. I am eager to learn from their gracious diligence.”

I have been so blessed to work alongside faculty and to see our efforts have a direct impact on the Montreat community. I look forward to more meaningful relationships and growth in all areas of life.”

“God has blessed me with the opportunity to be a Wilson Scholar and I cherish that honor every day. Montreat College is the best, and I could never see myself anywhere else. There is such a long history here and I love talking with the alumni from 30, 40, or even 50 years ago. One person who stood out among the stories was Elizabeth Wilson. When I think about the student that I want to be, I think back to Ms. Wilson – who gave her heart, mind and strength to this school. I am so blessed to carry her name on in the work that I feel really means something to the whole community of Montreat. I hope to someday be remembered as she is.”
