Orientation for New Montreat Students
Orientation 2010
We offer two types of "orientation" programming at Montreat College...Welcome Week and Outdoor Orientation.
Welcome Week is the more traditional type of orientation program where new students, led by staff and upperclassmen, participate in a range of activities. Welcome Week is a time where students learn more about the campus and surrounding area, play games, take field trips, take part in service projects, and more. Check out the 2010 Welcome Week Schedule to see what's in store for you when you start your new year at Montreat College!
Participation in Welcome Week is required for all incoming students, including transfers and internationals.
Outdoor Orientation is the second type of orientation program offered and is an extended wilderness experience program. This 10 day program utilizes the wilderness for personal growth experience and focuses on your relationship with God, others, yourself, and your natural surroundings. Students are not required to have any previous wilderness trip experience in order to participate. Learn more about Outdoor Orientation.
Students choosing to take part in Outdoor Orientation will arrive to campus earlier than other new students but will be able (and expected) to participate in the traditional Welcome Week program as well.
