At Montreat, we frequently invite thoughtful guest speakers to speak to our campus community on topics of theological, spiritual, and biblical significance. Spiritual Emphasis Week is special time dedicated to spiritual life discussions.

Faith and Politics Week focuses on the integration of Christian thought within the discussion of politics, government, and justice.

| Crossroads: Faith and Culture Project
The Faith and Culture Project “recognizes the powerful medium of the popular arts as a revelation of the realities of the human condition including its beauty and truth by seeking to engage with popular culture, and to discern the positive and negative messages woven within culture as they relate either directly or indirectly to the Christian faith.” Crossroads has been in existence for 19 years at Montreat and is on a three-year cycle, focusing on music, film and literature.

Faith and Relationships
Recognizing the need for understanding in the area of faith and relationships, this emphasis week seeks to encourage the campus community and guests to think through relationships with a biblical worldview.

Student Government Events
| 72 Hours of Prayer
SGA-sponsored 72 Hours of Prayer offers an opportunity for the campus community to sign up for a time of intentional prayer, meditation, worship, or solitude. This special time encourages the entire community to focus on Christ. Each night includes a time of worship and a speaker.

| Week of Encouragement
Week of Encouragement puts Hebrews 10:24 to action. The purpose of the week is for the community to “spur one another on to love and good deeds.” SGA sets up a table in the Belk Student Center where students, staff, and faculty can write notes of encouragement to one another.

This dynamic time of worship through song, scripture, and speakers, unites the entire campus community in praising God with one voice.
