Student Life

Service

From college leadership to staff and faculty, Montreat College seeks to foster a culture of service – serving our students, serving each other, and joining together to serve our global community.

Service-Driven

We’re a community that takes initiative. At Montreat College, we believe that it is part of our calling to see the needs of our community and respond. Each year we offer a variety of service opportunities in addition to living out a servant-hearted ethic in our day-to-day activities. There are plenty of opportunities to contribute to a culture of service at Montreat College.

Connect with Director of Service and Outreach Ryan Watkins if you’re interested in serving.

Welcome Week service projects

These service projects are designed to expose the needs of the community during orientation week.

The Fall Service Retreat

Our annual Fall Service Retreat allows students to get involved with local organizations and meet specific needs.

Call to Action Week

During Call to Action Week we cover a variety of topics such as modern slavery and sex trafficking; includes guest speakers, discussion groups, film screenings, and fundraisers, and concludes with a service day at a local organization.

Spring Break Mission Trips

Our Spring Break Mission Trips take a global approach. In the past, our trips have taken students to serve in Jamaica, Guatemala, and the Cherokee reservation in North Carolina.

Community Day

Community Day is a longstanding tradition which involves the whole Montreat community coming together to care for the campus as well as our surrounding community.

Volunteer

As a Montreat student, you always have an opportunity to get involved and make an impact in the community. Ryan Watkins, director of service and outreach, is available to point you in the right direction.
