  Psychology Major

Psychology

The major in psychology at Montreat will equip students on both a personal and an academic level, having realistic ideas about how to implement their psychological knowledge, skills, and values in a variety of occupational settings. Students will gain familiarity with and understanding of current concepts and historical trends in the field of psychology as well as basic research methods, design, and analysis.

Aside from the academic benefits of studying psychology, students will also gain critical thinking skills, being able to apply psychological principles to personal, social, and organizational issues as well as gaining insights into their own and others’ behavior so that they can apply effective strategies for self-management and self-improvement.
