at Montreat College

The Outdoor Education degree program combines the disciplines of Adventure Education and Environmental Education from a Christian worldview.

The purpose of the Outdoor Education Department is to develop Christ-centered Outdoor Educators. By combining discussion-oriented classes with real-world experience, students learn to teach in, through, and about the outdoors.

Montreat College's Outdoor Education Department to launch a new major in Outdoor Ministry in Fall 2009. The degree will combine coursework in Outdoor Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Bible and Religion and Christian Education. The degree program is intended for those interested in using outdoor programming in a ministry setting whether at a Christian Camp, Conference Center, a formal church or mission setting. Are you interested in living in an intentional community among other college students all interested in leadership development? Consider applying for the Immersion Semester. The program is open to students in their Sophomore through Senior. Registration for Spring 2010 is currently open.
