| Sixteen Montreat
College students have been selected as
outstanding national leaders for
inclusion in the 1997 edition of Whos
Who Among Students in American
Universities and Colleges. The students, picked from both
the Montreat campus and the School of
Professional and Adult Studies
(S.P.A.S.), join an elite group chosen
from 1,900 educational institutions in
the United States and several foreign
countries. Students are nominated and
selected based upon academic
achievements, community service,
leadership in extracurricular activities
and potential for continued success.
Selected from Montreat
were: seniors Andrew Bobilya of
Bloomington, IN; Scott Bowers of Irmo,
SC; Bethany Bailey Conley of Black
Mountain, NC; Zola Griffin of
Sherrills Ford, NC; Amanda Nesbitt
of Denver, NC ; and Jeff Sheets of
Hickory, NC.
Four students from the
Asheville campus of the School of
Professional and Adult Studies were named
to Whos Who: Wesley Lane of
East Flat Rock; Debra McCray of Fletcher;
Tollie Roberts of Candler and Pat Wagner
of Fairview.
Six students from the
Charlotte S.P.A.S. campus were named to Whos
Who: David Adkins of Statesville, NC;
Monica Bankston of Charlotte, NC; Teresa
Blackwelder of Rock Hill, SC; Bill Caudle
of Harrisburg, NC; Terry Huneycutt of
Oakboro, NC and Kim Little of Monroe, NC.
