Students Compete in Dr. Stackhouse Scholarship Competition

On March 22, 2013, eleven students competed in this year’s Dr. Eunice W. Stackhouse Scholarship Competition. In 2012, the Friends of Music Scholarship was named in honor of Dr. Eunice Stackhouse, long-time, beloved music faculty member at Montreat College. Sophomore Desirée Duff won first place, earning a $2,000 music scholarship. Frankie Leo, also a sophomore, won second place, receiving a $1,750 scholarship. Sophomore Brooke Alexander won third place, earning a $1,500 scholarship. An incoming student, David Joseph, won fourth place, and freshman Trenton Durham won fifth place. Emily Vess received Honorary Mention. All students were congratulated for their professional, varied programs.
