Reviews may be done on any of the books in the
bibliography included with the syllabus for the course or
on any other book approved by me. All reviews are to
be handed on the due
date. Tardy reviews will be dropped a letter grade
for each day late.
Each review must be between 750 and 1,250 words. No handwritten reviews will be accepted.
Each review should use hanging indentation, and then begin with the author's name, last
name first; the title of the work in italics or underlined; the place
of publication followed by a colon; the publisher
followed by a comma; and the copyright date followed by a
period. Here is a sample:
Lumiansky, R. M. Of Sondry Folk: The Dramatic Principle in
the
Canterbury Tales. Austin, Texas: University of
Texas
Press, 1955.
After you give that information, triple space and
begin your review, doubling spacing in the text.
Each review should do the following:
Attempt to explain clearly the work's thesis.
Cite the work's important arguments.
Criticize and/or praise the work's strengths and
weaknesses.
