Core Courses:
Faith, Music
and Culture (3 credits)
This course is an
approved substitute for MS302 Worship and Church Music. Combined with the
completion of MS101 Introduction to Music, this CMC course can fulfill the
Music History & Culture requirement.
Inside the
Music Industry (3 credits)
This course will
substitute for three of the required four semesters of the Music Business
Seminar (MS 461/2/3/4). Music Business majors completing this CMC course
would still have to complete one semester of the Music Business Seminar.
Practicum (1
credit)
This course will
be accepted as partial fulfillment of the requirements of MS441
Internship. Upon completion of the CMC Practicum, the student will arrange
with his or her advisor for an internship that is approximately half the
number of working hours that are usually required for MS441. The student
will be awarded the full 2 credits for MS441 upon completion of both the
CMC Practicum and the abbreviated internship.

Should a Music
Business major attend the CMC and choose the Artist Track, any two of
these three courses will be accepted in fulfillment of the two Practical
Skills elective courses. The other course could be accepted as a general
elective.
