What is Expeditionary Science?

Multi-day, science-intesive, adventure trips

Join a team of students and participate in real-life scientific research as you travel through unique ecosystems and collect important scientific data. Live off the land, sleep under the stars, and HAVE FUN along the way!

Who can attend?

7th-12th grade students (age 12-18)

No previous science knowledge or outdoor skills are required.  Any student with an open mind and willing spirit will succeed at CLIMBE.  A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as trips can be physically demanding.

When are the trips?

June and July 2010

Choose 1 or more multi-day, overnight trip this summer.  Most trips are 1 week long - the MEGA trip is 2 weeks long.  Contact Us for details concerning back-to-back trips.

Where do trips take place?

Montreat College and mountains of North Carolina

Trips utilize natural areas and organizations including Mount Mitchell State Park, Pisgah National Forest, Linville Gorge Wilderness, Appalachian Trail, National Climate Data Center, and more (trip-dependent)...

How much does it cost?

Register before February 15 and recieve a $50 discount*

Trip fees are based on a sliding scale and range from $50 to $500.

The trip fee includes:
