The Computer Information Systems major is designed to provide students
with sufficient infrastructure knowledge of hardware, software,
telecommunic-ations, and operating systems technology to maintain
organizational information technology systems effectively as
well as apply quantitative techniques to the design and
maintenance of those systems.

The Computer Information Systems
(CIS) degree program prepares graduates for a variety of careers in
consulting, industry, government, and not-for-profit
organizations.
The program builds upon Montreat College’s strong
liberal arts core with professional training in computer technology,
business administration, and quantitative analysis.
CIS provides
students with knowledge of information technology (IT), its
application to business, and a broad understanding of how IT fits in
to the global economy, society, and the environment.
