Dear Fellow Alumni—
Thanks to each of you who returned to Montreat for Homecoming 2013! The weather was incredible and it was wonderful to see each of you. Here were some of the weekend highlights: We had over 145 online registrations, and many more attended that did not register online. As a Montreat tradition, the square dance welcomed Glenn Bannerman and the Stoney Creek Boys Band back again and all present had a wonderful time. We are hoping to return the location of the square dance to the Barn next year. Our alumni basketball games were a hit – over 250 in attendance! Going on at the same time, a large number of alumni with the class of ’62, ’63, and ‘64 gathered for fellowship at the Glen Rock Inn. Wow—did they have a good time! The complimentary pancake breakfast allowed time for class reunion years to reconnect and 85+ alumni attended the Alumni Association meeting following the breakfast. As always, the Hymn Sing in the Chapel of the Prodigal was wonderful with about 100 singers in attendance. Congratulations to the 17 members of the class of ’63 that were inducted into the Heritage Society at the luncheon. It was great to see Laura Sain, class of 1936, who also attended the luncheon! And thanks to our Montreat College choir that performed during several events over the weekend. They were truly magnificent. It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Please take a moment to browse the Homecoming links below. We have a Homecoming recap video available for you to watch as well as pictures from the weekend events for you to enjoy. The Homecoming survey consists of six brief questions regarding your experience and your comments will help us plan next year’s Homecoming events.
