Maybe you’re looking to stretch your personal limits in a safe, Christ-centered community. Or maybe you just love God and the great outdoors. Regardless of your cause, we can shape your direction toward leadership through wilderness experience, fellowship, and an intensive semester spent in the field.
Our Outdoor Education department offers its own immersion semester that focuses on Wilderness Leadership. Some of the courses in this certificate include:
- Leadership and group dynamics
- Outdoor programming
- Leadership in a skill area—kayaking, rock climbing, etc.
- Field natural history
You’ll complete these courses while living off-campus for most of the semester in an intentional community. If you earn this certification, you’ll also receive the Wilderness First Responder certification. In addition, our program may qualify you for competency completion through the following organizations:
- The Wilderness Education Association
- The American Canoe Association
