In the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Montreat College in Morganton, N.C., you can work toward a mental health career that allows you to help others work through crises and make meaning in their lives. Unlike some mental health counseling programs, we put an emphasis on experience outside the classroom. Students in this program are required to complete a counseling practicum and two internships to gain supervised clinical experience that focuses on assessment and consultation.

Upon completion of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s degree program, you will meet the educational requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) license from the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. You’ll have the potential to work in the community as an agent of social justice – as an advocate, leader, and collaborator.
